Sylhet Press Club journalists  exchange views with SMP Commissioner

Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Commissioner Md. Rezaul Karim PPM has commented that the police will be vigilant so that no one can get away with committing crimes in the name of journalism or any political party. He said that no one will get away with committing crimes in the name of journalism or any political party. The police will always stand by honest and objective journalists. He said these things during an exchange of views with journalists representing the Sylhet Press Club.

The role of police and journalists is inextricably linked with society. Commenting on this, the SMP Commissioner said that the past fascist government has caused huge damage in all areas, every organ of the country has been destroyed by their misrule. Therefore, everyone must now build a new Bangladesh. Sylhet Press Club leaders said that Sylhet Press Club is a traditional and old press club. Despite going through many ups and downs, mainstream journalists of Sylhet remain united.

Press Club leaders said that currently all newspapers also have online versions. They will perform their duties efficiently on their own platforms. Journalist leaders said, we want to maintain professionalism in journalism. We want to reject yellow and misjournalism. They called on the law enforcement agencies to speak out against those who are tarnishing Sylhet’s journalism through misreporting.
