Joint Secretary (Extension-1) of the Ministry of Agriculture Dipankar Biswas said, the Partner Project will play an important role in building Smart Bangladesh. Through its successful implementation, it will be possible to ensure the country’s food and nutrition security by transforming the country’s agriculture into commercial agriculture, and the path to building knowledge-based, sustainable commercial agricultural production and marketing businesses will be paved. This project will be implemented in 8 divisions, 14 regions, 64 districts and 495 upazilas of the country. Under this project, 1 lakh hectares of new agricultural land will be brought under irrigation, including increasing the cultivation of fruits and vegetables on 3 lakh hectares of land. The goal of building Smart Bangladesh is to expand digital agricultural services by providing modern smart agricultural cards to 2 crore 27 lakh 53 thousand 321 farmer families across the country. This project will play a groundbreaking role in creating a new awakening in the agricultural sector by developing the enterprises of women and young agricultural entrepreneurs. He called on everyone to focus on producing quality and safe agricultural products by increasing the use of modern technology for the development of the country’s agricultural system.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the departmental workshop (2025) of the Partner Project implemented by DAE, BARC, DAM, BADC, BRRI, BARI and BMDA at a prestigious hotel in the city on Monday (May 26) afternoon.
The workshop was chaired by Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Additional Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Sylhet Region,
Abul Kalam Azad, Program Coordinator of the Partner Project, DAE Khamar Bari Dhaka, and Dr. Rakibuzzaman Khan, PCU DPD also attend the workshop as special guest.

Fenchuganj Upazila Agriculture Officer Subrata Deb Nath conducted the workshop.The workshop was addressed by BADC APD Dr. AKM Mizanur Rahman, Partner Bari APD Jagadish Chandra Barman, and Bri Partner Project APD Md. Abdul Quader.
At the beginning, Chhatak Upazila Agriculture Officer Toufiq Hossain Khan recited from the Holy Quran, and Bishwanath Upazila Agriculture Officer Kanak Chandra Roy recited the Gita.
The welcome speech was delivered by DAE Khamar Bari Dhaka APD Dr. Gourgobinda.
Representatives of various agriculture-related organizations, farmers, print and electronic media journalists, and AOs of Sylhet Division, UAOs, district-level officers, deputy directors, and others were present in the day-long workshop.
