The Sylhet Mother and Child Welfare Center has remained operational throughout the extended Eid-ul-Fitr holiday, ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services for mothers and children in the region.
Family Planning and Maternal and Child Health Service Activities As per the instructions of the Director General of the Department of Family Planning, under the overall supervision of the Deputy Director of the Sylhet District Family Planning Office, Md Niazur Rahman, the Sylhet District Mother and Child Welfare Center located in Atiabari, South Surma Upazila and all other health service centers have continued to provide all essential services for maternal and child health and family planning during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
Although the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays have been ongoing since March 26, family planning services including prenatal services, delivery services, post-natal services, general health services, adolescent services, etc are being provided at the centers according to the needs of the recipients. The recipients are very happy to receive family planning and maternal and child health services during the Eid holidays.
Deputy Director of Sylhet Family Planning Department Md Niazur Rahman said, “we have given this instruction so that mothers and children get round-the-clock service. Because, humanity above everything. My staff is always working sincerely to provide service.”
It is known that 7 normal deliveries were completed at the Mother and Child Welfare Center in Sylhet district, under the supervision of Medical Officer (Clinic) Dr Israt Jahan, during the Eid holidays from March 26 to March 31.
Medical Officer Clinic Dr Israt Jahan is living in the residential building of the Mother and Child Welfare Center along with his family, and the family welfare inspectors in charge also live in the residential building. It is known that all the mothers and newborns here are healthy. They are satisfied with the service during the Eid holidays.
