Sylhet Liberation Day was celebrated with due dignity and solemnity at Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) on Monday.
On the occasion of the day, the university’s National Day Celebration Committee organized a message published from Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Alimul Islam a discussion meeting and a rally.
The discussion meeting was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Rashed Al Mamun, a member of the National Day Celebration Committee, and presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Samiul Ahsan Talukder, President of the Celebration Committee and Director of the Student Counseling and Guidance Department.
During this time, Treasurer Professor Dr. ATM Mahbub-e-Elahi, Registrar Professor Dr. Md. Asad-ud-Doula, Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Jasim Uddin Ahmed delivered the special guest speech.
The rally organized on the occasion of Sylhet Liberation Day started from the administrative building of the university and ended in front of the Shaheed Minar.
The National Day Celebration Committee placed wreaths at the martyrs’ shrine located in front of the university’s guest house. Later, the Vice Chancellor placed wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar.
At the end of the discussion meeting, Professor Dr. Md. Shahadat Hossain led the prayer for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs.
