In the face of the agitation of the students of Kishori Mohan Balika High School, the principal of the school, Gaura Ghosh, finally resigned. He tendered his resignation in a letter to Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Sylhet on Thursday (August 29) citing personal reasons.
Sylhet City Corporation Ward 16 Councilor Abdul Muhit Javed accepted the resignation on behalf of Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Sylhet. On hearing the news of the resignation of the headmaster, the students took out a joyous procession. Abdul Muhit Jabed, Ward 16 Councilor, Sylhet Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Emdad Hossain Chowdhury addressed the students. The members of the managing committee, local residents along with school teachers, students and parents were present.
Meanwhile since August 25, the students of the school have pointed out various irregularities against the head teacher. Students staged a human chain, protest march and blocked the road to demand the resignation of Headmaster Gaura Ghosh. As a result, on August 29 (Thursday), the headmaster of the school signed a resignation letter citing personal reasons.
