Sylhet Bureau:
BNP standing committee member
Dr. Moin Khan said, the announcement of the date for the national election in February is BNP’s victory, BNP wants not only the announcement of the election, but also fair and impartial elections. Along with this, this senior BNP leader called on the leaders and activists to make all kinds of preparations for the elections.

On Wednesday (August 6), at 12:30 pm, a victory rally was held at the historic registry ground in Sylhet at the initiative of Sylhet District and Metropolitan BNP on the anniversary of the historic mass uprising of students and the public. He said these things as the chief guest at the pre-victory rally.

Dr. Moin Khan said, “The government is doing their work with the elections, now we have to do our work. We have to go to every village and town in the country and deliver the message of the sheaves of rice.”

He remembered the martyrs of the July-August mass uprising with deep respect and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He also expressed hope that the state would fulfill its responsibility to rehabilitate the families of the martyrs and injured. The July uprising was a clear message from the people against one-party rule. That history provides us with new motivation today—in the ongoing struggle to restore democracy.

He also said that BNP’s position has been formed under the strong leadership of Tarique Rahman. We want a free, fair and acceptable election. BNP is ready for that purpose. BNP will participate in the election with the people and will win.

The top BNP leader further said, “Numerous party leaders and activists have sacrificed their lives fearlessly. We deeply respect their selfless sacrifice and contribution to the country. He highly praised the anti-fascist movement of Sylhet district and metropolitan BNP.

The gathering was presided over by Sylhet district BNP president Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury. Metropolitan BNP general secretary Imdad Hossain Chowdhury moderated the event. BNP Chairperson’s advisor Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, BNP co-organizing secretary Miftah Siddiqui, BNP leader Abdul Qayyum Jalali Panki, district BNP general secretary Advocate Emran Ahmed Chowdhury, metropolitan BNP acting president Dr. Nazmul Islam, and BNP member Hadiya Chowdhury Munni spoke.

The victory rally started at 12:30 pm from the historic registry ground in Sylhet and circled various roads of the city before ending at Court Point due to rain. It ended. Despite the continuous rain, the huge presence of leaders and activists made the rally lively.
