Entertainment Report :
The pride of Bangladesh’s music scene, legendary musician and composer Syed Abdul Hadi almost gave up on singing new songs.
But Channel i’s Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagor, Assistant Executive Director (Accounts) Ziaul Hasan and music director and sound engineer Azam Babu have been trying to render new songs by Syed Abdul Hadi for the past two years and more. Finally, their efforts were successful.
Syed Abdul Hadi has lent his voice to four new songs for the audience. A programme titled ‘Jiboner Gaan’ will be aired on Channel i at 5:30pm on Eid, planned and directed by Azam Babu.
The programme ‘Jiboner Gaan’ is hosted by legendary lyricist Mohammad Rafiquzzaman.
The music for all the songs has been arranged by Binod Roy. Azam Babu was the video director for promoting its songs in video form.
After much effort by Azam Babu, this programme is going to reach the audience on the upcoming Eid.
That’s why Azam Babu himself is excited. Ziaul Hasan told this correspondent, “Respected Hadi Bhai is the pride of our music scene. To be able to come near him is like a great achievement in life.
The Channel i family is proud that he has kept our request. Viewers will be able to see him again in a new song on Channel i.”
Azam Babu said, “It is truly a great pleasure for us to be able to organise such an event with Syed Hadi Bhai. I am sincerely grateful to Hadi Bhai for this.”
Of the four new songs, two are written by Mohammad Rafiquzzaman. The remaining two are by Sanjoy Shil (music was composed by Punam Mitra) and Rupa Debnath. The music for three songs was composed by Syed Abdul Hadi.
Regarding talking about rendering these four new songs, Syed Abdul Hadi said, “I had actually decided that I wouldn’t sing any more new songs. But Sagor, Zia and Babu pretty much forced me to sing the songs.
To be honest, I couldn’t say no to them because of their sincerity towards me. They love and respect me so much that I couldn’t say no. Besides, I have been friendship with Mohammad Rafiquzzaman for 60 years.
A few days ago, a song he sent me caught my attention. Since we are the same age, this is what we can call our emotions and feelings about life.
That’s why I wanted to sing the song. That’s how the songs were actually made. I like it, the audience might like it. Everyone is invited to watch the programme.”
