Charlotta Schlyter, Ambassador of Sweden in Bangladesh visited activities of Building Better for Future Girls (BBFG) Project during the two- day long programme in Kurigram on Monday .
She visited different activities of the BBFG project in Kurigram Sadar and Chilmari upazila during this course.
The Ambassador participated a meeting as a Chief Guest with District Child Marriage Prevention Committee in Conference Room of Deputy Commissioner called “SwapnaKuri” where Deputy Commissioner presented a report on the overall initiatives of District Administration to end child marriage in Kurigram district and how different projects like, BBFG adding value and making contributions to achieve that district action plan.
Then, the ambassador visited Panchgachi Mondal Para Kismotia Dakhil Madrasha and interacted with teachers and members of Student Cabinet. Later on, The Ambassador inaugurated a football match of girls’ student in Madrash and enjoyed. Later on, she visited Youth Forum in Vogdanga Union; interacted with them.
On the 2nd day on Tuesday , the Ambassador visited Ramna Union Parishad. Then, she sat with the members of Community Based Child Protection Committee (CBCPC). Finally, The Ambassador took part an interview session in Radio Chilmari FM 99.20 and expressed her feelings on field visit of BBFG project. She appreciated the way of implementing the project involving all stakeholders like religious leaders, champion fathers, youth forum, student cabinet and local government, upazila and district administration. She along with other two members of embassy of Sweden in Bangladesh named Ylva Sahlstrand, Second Secretary, Democracy, Human Rights and Gender Equality and Reazul Islam, Controller, Development Co-operation spent the days by visiting field.
Dr. Hrishikesh Sarker, Divisional Manager of Plan International Bangladesh and Humayun Khalid, Director Program of RDRS accompanied her during the visit.
