At least two individuals, including a local leader of the Swechchhasebak Dal, were brutally hacked to death in a violent clash over local supremacy in the Gokul area of Sadar Upazila, Bogura, on Tuesday morning.
The victims were identified as Mizanur Rahman Mizan, 37, son of Afsar Ali, and Ledu, 35, son of Bulu Miah, both residents of the Gokul area. Mizan served as the convener of the Swechchhasebak Dal’s Bogura Sadar Upazila unit, while Ledu was a supporter of Bipul, the suspended president of the Gokul Union Jubo Dal.
Saihan Oliullah, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station, confirmed that an investigation is underway. According to local sources, the attackers arrived on 10-15 motorcycles and assaulted Mizan while he was socialising with
associates around 9:00 pm. Mizan was rushed to a nearby hospital by locals but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
