After a brief stint in the movies and a whirlwind of the web, popular Bengali actress Swastika Dutta is returning to the small screen.
She once made a name for herself in the hearts of viewers through Star Jalsa’s popular serial ‘Bhoj Govinda’.
The actress was also making waves on the big screen and digital platforms following that success.
But now, after a long break, she has decided to return to serials, and that too with the help of Star Jalsa.
Just as Swastika has garnered praise for her negative roles in movies like ‘Chalchitra’ and ‘Alap’ in 2024, or the blockbuster ‘Fataphati’ in 2023, she has also captured the attention of viewers on digital platforms in web series like ‘Govir Joler Machh’, ‘Khujechhi Toke Raat Berate’ (awaiting release), or ‘Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel’.
After acting in Zee Bangla’s serial ‘Tomar Khola Hawa’, she had firmly announced that she would not be doing any more serials! Now Swastika says, “If you have a character that suits your mind, all decisions can be changed.”
After a long eight years, she is returning to the screen of Star Jalsa in a new serial titled ‘Professor Vidya Banerjee’. Here she will play the title role of ‘Vidya Banerjee’.
