Swapnojatra – a voluntary organisation – hosted its annual meeting at Patkelpota Government Primary School in Soladana Union, Paikgachha Upazila, Khulna. During the event, the group distributed food packages to underprivileged families across the union in celebration of Eid and also provided auto-vans to support families in achieving self-reliance.
The way they chose the beneficiaries was honest and different. First, families from six villages were asked to apply. Then, detailed information about each family was collected using a special survey form. After that, a jury team from the organisation carefully studied the data and fairly selected the most deserving families, read a press release issued March 31.
One of the beneficiaries, Md Zahid Hossain, shared his story with emotion saying, “My father is mentally sick, and my youngest child is disabled. I have to take care of the whole family. Even though I have a serious liver disease, I work in a brickfield to support them—it feels like facing death every day. It’s very hard to continue treatment for my child. This auto-van has brought me a bit of peace. Swapnojatra’s kind gift will help me stand on my own feet. I’m deeply thankful.”
The local people praised Swapnojatra for this kind and thoughtful work. The organisation hopes to continue helping people in need and bringing positive change in the future.
