Suo motu action by NHRC on Lalon devotee’s house vandalism

National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Bangladesh has taken suo motu cognizance of media report of allegedly vandalizing house of a Lalon devotee Chaina Begum, 90, in village Takimara under Sadar upazila in Kushtia.
According to a NHRC press release, a case has already been filed with Kushtia Sadar Police Station, against 45-50 people over the incident that took place on June 26, reports UNB.
The human rights body in a press release said the allegations of vandalizing the house of the nonagenarian woman and assaulting her as she protested are shocking and violation of human rights.
