Sunamganj-4 constituency: BNP-Jamaat likely to intensify fight

This time, the traditional Sunamganj-4 constituency, known as the stronghold of BNP and Jatiya Party, will be a fierce fight between BNP and Jamaat.
The total number of voters in this constituency is 3 lakh 44 thousand 405. In the last national election, there were 107 polling stations, this time there are 113 polling stations .
In view of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections, potential candidates in this constituency, like all over the country, are spending a busy time in public relations and exchange of views. They are announcing their candidacies by installing banners, posters and billboards all over the constituency.
In Sunamganj-4 (Sadar-Bishwambhapur) constituency,
BNP has not yet finalized its candidate. As a result, multiple candidates are active in the election field.
Four BNP candidates are seeking nomination in this constituency. These are – former Upazila and Municipality Chairman and District BNP Convening Committee member Dewan Joynul Zakerin, former District BNP General Secretary and current Convening Committee member former Chhatra Dal leader Adv. Nurul Islam Nurul, former District Youth and Chhatra Dal President Abul Mansur Shawkat, District BNP Convening Committee member and District BNP Convening Committee member Barrister Abidur Rahman.
Recently, there are rumors among the leaders and workers of the District BNP and its affiliated organizations that Adv. Nurul Islam Nurul has been instructed to work in the field with a ‘green signal’ as the party’s nominated candidate.
Adv. Nurul has intensified his campaign after receiving this instruction.
Adv. Nurul Islam Nurul said that he has started the election campaign under the guidance of the party’s responsible leaders. He seeks the united cooperation of the party’s leaders and workers on behalf of the rice sheaf.
Dewan Zainul Zakerin, who came to invite his supporters to a motorcycle showdown, said, BNP’s candidacy has not been announced yet. It may happen in a couple of days. Our workers will participate in the election campaign with a motorcycle showdown on Monday. He also said, “I have been elected as Upazila Chairman several times because the people love me. I hope the party will nominate me this time too.”
Another nomination hopeful of the party, Abul Munsur Shawkat, said, “I am working hard in the field for the party nomination, I am doing yard meetings, street meetings and various other things, I hope the party will nominate me.”
Barrister Abidul Haque said, there is a meeting of the party’s standing committee on Monday (today). The party’s candidate may be announced after that. I am trying to stay in touch with the party’s highest policy-making forum. I seek the prayers of the people of Sunamganj.
The Jamaat-e-Islami candidate nominated in this seat is Sunamganj District Jamaat Naib-e-Ameer Advocate Shams Uddin. As a single candidate, he has created a strong position in the field. He has placed the development of medical, education and infrastructure in the area at the center of his campaign.
Shahidul Islam Palashi is campaigning as a candidate of Islami Andolan Bangladesh in this constituency. He is continuing his activities with his party leaders and activists.
As the time approaches, the election field is in full swing.
However, in the end, the voters of the constituency believe that the main fight will be between BNP and Jamaat.
