Friday marks the tenth death anniversary of former bureaucrat Sultan-uz Zaman Khan.
He entered the Civil Service of Pakistan in 1955. Over an illustrious career spanning more than 30 years, he was the district commissioner of Jessore and commissioner of Khulna Division in 1970.
After independence, he served as the secretary of Shipping, Inland Waterways and Aviation ministries, among others.
Sultan-uz Zaman had been a senior official at Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (Escap) in Bangkok for several years.
He was also the founder chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Bangladesh in 1993-1996.
He is missed deeply by his daughters, Anita and Rebecca.
The family has requested everyone to pray for the salvation of his departed soul.
