UNB, Faridpur :
The sugarcane crushing programme began at Faridpur Sugar Mill with a target to produce 3,125 metric tonnes (MT) of sugar this current season.
The programme was inaugurated on Friday afternoon at the sugar mill premises.
The crushing target was fixed at 3,125 metric tonnes of sugarcane in 50 days with the recovery rate of sugar at 6.25 percent.
Chairman of Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) Sheikh Shoebul Alam was present as the chief guest with Md. Saifullah, Managing Director of the mill in the chair.
