The Upazila Cooperative Office organised programme on the occasion of the 51st National Cooperative Day, The theme of this year was ‘Bangabandhu’s Philosophy of Cooperative Development’.
Shibalaya Upazila Chairman Rezaur Rahman Khan was the chief guest at the discussion meeting organized at Shibaloy Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Saturday. UNO Md. Zahidur Rahman presided over the function.
Upazila Vice Chairman Miraj Hossain Lalon, Runa Akhtar, Awami League General Secretary MA Quddus BA were special guests. Cooperative Officer Rinat Fauzia, PIO Sudev Krishna, Public Health Engineer Dabirul Islam, Cooperative Abdul Hai, Subhash Majumder and others spoke. Journalist Babul Akhtar is allowed to conduct the program. It is known that there are 162 registered societies in Shivalaya Upazila.
It is known that national and cooperative flags were hoisted in the upazila area in the morning as a program of the day. Shibaloy Upazila Chairman Rezaur Rahman Khan National Flag and UNO Md. Zahidur Rahman hoisted the cooperative flag. At this time, national anthem and cooperative anthem were performed. Upazila cooperative officer Rinat Fauzia and many members of various cooperative societies were present. Besides, colorful processions are taken out.
Speakers said there is no alternative to co-operatives to avoid poverty and debt and to get many benefits including increased productivity. In order to deal with the corona-war situation, every inch of land should be cultivated, fisheries etc. cooperative policy should be strengthened. Although it is an original organization, people are not getting much benefit from it due to various reasons. For this, proper training of cooperatives, loan facilities, activities of weak associations should be strengthened.

The Department of Cooperatives in Kishoreganj and others Cooperatives societies have chalked out elaborates programmes in a befitting manner.
A discussion meeting was organised by District Cooperatives Office at a Cooperatives Community Centre in the town on Saturday.
DC in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Ahmed attended as chief guest and Additional SP ( Admin & Finance) Mustaque Sarker,, District Cooperatives Officer Umme Marium and District Awami League general secretary advocate M. A Afzol were special guests, while Kishoreganj Cooperatives Society president Hyman Kabir in the chair.
It was addressed among others by, Md.Ruhul Amain, Mohila Awami League district secretary Bilkis Begum, Freedom fighter Abdul Mannan and Cooperatives leader Khairuzzaman Tohin.
DC Mohammad Shamim Alam said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman wanted to build a self-reliant economy through village cooperatives. Bangabandhu considered co-operatives as one of the practical methods of development.
DC called upon all concerned to turn the power of ‘cooperative’, the economic philosophy of the Father of the Nation, into a pro-people cooperative movement.

Shahzadpur (Sirajganj) Correspondent says: The 51st National Cooperative Day was celebrated in Shahzadpur of Sirajganj with the theme of ‘Bangabandhu’s Philosophy, Cooperative Development’ on Saturday .
The day was celebrated through a rally and discussion meeting organized by the Upazila Administration and Cooperative Department. The rally was held at 10:30 am with the participation of guests and co-operatives. Later, UNO Sadia Afrin chaired a programme at the Upazila Martyrs Memorial Conference Room and Chairman of Upazila Parishad Prof Azad Rahman was present as the chief guest. Among others, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Liaquat Salman, Vice Chairman Mamunur Rashid Liaquat, Female Vice Chairman Eliza Khan and others were special guests on the occasion under the overall supervision of Upazila Cooperative Officer Maruf Hossain. Besides, about 300 cooperatives of the upazila were present. At this time, certificates were distributed among 17 best and successful cooperative societies out of 532 cooperative societies of the upazila.
BSS from Rajshahi adds : Successful cooperatives can be the best way of improving living and livelihood conditions of people everywhere in the society both in urban and rural areas.
Utmost emphasis should be given on infusing dynamism into the cooperative activities as it’s very much effective towards freeing the nation from the curse of poverty and hunger.
Administrative officials and others concerned came up with the observation while addressing a post-rally discussion here Saturday calling for finding effective ways and means to attain strength and prosperity in every sphere of national life and for making the cooperatives movement a total success.
Divisional and District Administrations and Department of Cooperatives jointly organised the discussion at Shilpakala Academy Auditorium in the city to mark the 51st National Cooperatives Day-2022.
The theme of the day this year is ‘Philosophy of Bangabandhu, Development in Cooperatives’.
Commissioner of Rajshahi division GSM Zafarullah addressed the discussion as chief guest, while Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil was in the chair.
Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Rashdul Hassan and Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Bijoy Basak spoke as special guests, while Joint-registrar of the department of cooperatives Abdul Mazid welcomed the participants.
District Cooperatives Officer Saidur Rahman and two cooperative leaders Mijanur Rahman and Ayesha Islam also spoke.
