Dr Suborna Nawadir is that person who conferred first PhD degree in fashion education in Bangladesh and also created milestone in anchoring shows.
She is an anchor and teacher too. She has been anchoring various television and stage shows for
last 16 years. In the meantime, last eight years she
has been also working as a faculty at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology.
Suborna informed that today (November 29) is her ‘working day.’ It means on this day eight years
ago, she joined as a teacher in the university.
Meanwhile, she has also created a milestone in the field of anchoring. Anchoring a live show on Nexus TV on Monday, Suborna completed hosting her 6765th live show on the television. It was a great achievement for an anchor because on television channels, it is really a challenging matter to host live show. She has been doing this job easily regularly. She got BABISAS Award in 2007 for anchoring.
Suborna said that when she was only four and half years old, she first hosted a programme on Bangladesh Betar. From that point of view, she has been anchoring shows for last 28 years at a time. But professionally, as ‘ATN Tarokader Taroka,’ Suborna started her career in anchoring an Eid special show on ATN Bangla in 2006. She can still remember that day which was September 6. Her favourite film actor Salman Shah was died on that day, according to her.
Suborna received huge appreciation in and outside the country for anchoring various stage shows. When she was only 7 years old, Suborna worked as UNICEF’s ambassador to next 10 years at a time.
It was really a great achievement for her. She won first positions in nine disciplines including Rabindra Sangeet, patriotic song, anchoring, debate in the National Children Awards Competition and National Education Week Competition,
and secured second position in two disciplines.
Suborna said, “I really enjoy both anchoring and teaching. In one life, I got huge loves from many people for anchoring shows and also got recognition from many organisations. These achievements
made my life meaningful. In the meantime, I have been attached with teaching profession in the
university. It is also another achievement in my life. I want to remain hundred percent honest in my works as I request all to co-operate me always.”
