Additional Commissioner and Chief of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Mohammad Harun or Rashid said that action will be taken against them if they do not submit legal weapons to the police station before the election.
He said this in response to a question from journalists at his office on Minto Road in the capital on Monday afternoon.
DMP’s detective chief said that orders will be issued soon to those who have legal weapons to submit them to the police station.
If someone disobeys the order or does not surrender their lawful weapons, it is a crime.
Law enforcement forces must arrest them and bring their weapons.
Even a case will be filed against them under Arms Act.
