Students form committee to enlist victims

A 17-member central sub-committee on health has been formed in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Interim Government to enlist victims of quota reform movement.

This initiative, spearheaded by the anti-discrimination student movement, aims to compile a list of those who were killed or injured in the recent quota reform movement and to ensure appropriate health services are provided to the victims.

Nahida Bushra Eti has been appointed as the Convener, while Tarikul Islam has been named the Member Secretary of the sub-committee.

All members of the sub-committee have been issued identity (ID) cards attested by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The other members of the committee include Abdullah Ibne Hanif Aryan, Md Masooduzzaman, Md Rassel Mahmud, Md Riaz Uddin Shakib, Shahriar Mohammad Yamin, Dr Md Moniruzzaman, Dr Ataur Rahman Rajiv, Dr Iffat Jahan Nadia, Mahmudul Hasan, Md Mehdi Hasan, Abdullah Al Mahmud (Mehndi), Md Mashrafe Sarkar, Shahriar Hasnat Tapu, Md Ramim Khan, and Abir Hasan.

During a press conference held at the Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) on Wednesday, the sub-committee members announced their names, provided necessary contact information, and outlined their overall action plan.

The committee will remain active for the next 15 days, during which it will complete its assigned tasks.

Additionally, the sub-committee can be contacted directly at 01818279217 and 01400728080.

“The sub-committee will coordinate with the government on behalf of the students. No member of this committee shall engage in any financial transactions, nor will they accept donations or provide direct financial assistance to the families of the injured or deceased,” stated Tarikul Islam while reading the sub-committee’s official statement.
