Students beaten up for coming late to class: Teacher fined

Teachers at Kalai Moen Uddin Government High School in Joypurhat are reported to be late for class.
Enraged, they allegedly whipped 33 students at once, seriously injuring them.
The complaint has been filed against the assistant teacher of the school, MAG Nafsi Talukder. The incident took place in the 9th grade room of Kalai Government Moen Uddin High School at around 10:45 am today, Tuesday. When the students came out of the classroom and first took the complaint against the teacher to the headmaster, the headmaster expressed his inability to take action. Later, the students united and complained to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer. Upon receiving the students’ complaint, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shamima Akhter Jahan ordered the headmaster (acting) Saiful Islam to file a complaint against the teacher. On the instructions of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, the headmaster confirmed the matter of filing a complaint against the accused teacher.

Then the teacher started whipping all the students present in a random manner. As a result, 33 students were injured to some extent.
