The US television network ABC has suspended Jimmy Kimmel, the host of the popular US late night TV show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, indefinitely.
The move was taken for comments on the show about the murder of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk and mocking President Donald Trump.
The television authority has also announced that the show will be closed indefinitely, BBC reports.
Earlier on Monday, Kimmel said on the show, “The MAGA gang is desperately trying to portray the killer in a different light and gain political advantage from the incident.”
The report says that ‘MAGA’ here refers to Trump’s campaign slogan ‘Make America Great Again’. It is noted that Kimmel was referring to Trump when he said the phrase.
