Strangled dead body of a jeweler recovered from the room of his neighbour’s apartment in the same building near the police post at Natunbazaar area in the city on Saturday morning.
The victim was identified as Rubel Shikdar, 38, owner of Riya Guinea House in Marokhola-Natunbazar crossing and son of Masud Shikdar of Amanatganj Shikdar Para area in the city.
Sub Inspector Sahabuddin, in charge of Natun Bazaar Police Post under Kotwali police station, said local people informed them about laying a half-naked male body with tied hands and legs on the bed of an open-door apartment on 3rd floor at Halima Manzil, few yards west to the police post and recovered that.
The dead body of jeweler Rubel was recovered from the apartment of his friend Robin on the 3rd- floor of the 5-storid house Halima Manzil owned by an America expatriate.
Few months ago Jeweler Rubel, the tenant of the 2nd floor, introduced the Robin for renting apartment on 3rd floor to live with two females and both were close friends, police sources said.
The victim was strangled to death after torture and he was wanted by police for illegal money lending against gold deposit, marketing gold looted or stolen from different area and other crimes.
