Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has urged government officials to refrain from flattery. He made this statement while addressing a program in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj on Sunday.
In response to a question, he stated that the local administration has been instructed to demarcate the boundaries of the Balu Mahal to prevent illegal sand extraction from the river.
“We will see who comes to power in the future. You must act strictly now. Do not spare anyone under any circumstances, regardless of their party affiliation or leadership position,” he emphasized.
During the event, 30 power tillers and 40 shallow machines were distributed to local farmers under Dhaka Bank’s social responsibility program. Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Fatema-Tul-Jannat and Police Superintendent Shamsul Alam Sarkar were also present at the program.
Earlier, at a separate event, Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury highlighted the vigilance of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in border areas. He noted that India has halted the construction of barbed wire fences along the border due to resistance from BGB and local residents.
The adviser made this statement at a press briefing held in the Home Ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat on Sunday morning, according to a press release issued by the ministry.
