After witnessing a downward trend in the last two sessions, stocks on Thursday rebounded in the Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges as investors remained active on sector-wise issues.
DSEX, the broad index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), slightly advanced by 13.4 points and settled at 5,222 points against 5,208 points in the previous trading session.
Market analysts observed that market volatility persisted for the majority of on Thursday’s session as investors remained active on both sides of the trading board, while late-session buying activity led the market to end on the positive territory.
Meanwhile, market turnover again decreased by 16.6% to BDT 3.4 billion as against Taka 4.0 billion in the previous session.
On the sectoral front, Pharma (25.3%) issues exerted the highest turnover, followed by Textile (10.3%) and Bank (8.5%) sectors.
