Country’s both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – on Sunday plunged due to mainly price fall in large-cap securities.
DSEX, the broad index of the DSE, plunged by 76.8 points to settle at 4,678 points as against 4,754 points in the previous trading session, reports BSS.
Trading activities remained stagnant as most investors shied away from taking positions in equities, causing the total turnover in DSE falling to a low of Taka 2.7 billion.
On the sectoral front, Food (22.1%) issues exerted the highest turnover, followed by Bank (15.6%) and Pharma (11.4%) sectors.
