Stocks end flat

Stocks on Thursday ended flat as optimistic investors invested fresh funds in lucrative shares.

The prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased 0.38 point to settle at 5,112.89.

The blue-chip index DS30, comprising 30 leading companies, increased by 7.55 points to 1,903.85, while the DSES Index, representing Shariah-compliant companies, decreased by 3.55 points to 1,133.98 by the close.

Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 3.90 billion, up 24.12 per cent from the previous trading day, reports BSS.

The majority of the stocks saw a price decrease, as out of the 395 issues traded, 120 closed higher, 219 ended lower, and 56 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

Agni Systems was the most-traded stock, with shares worth Taka 202.81 million changing hands, followed by BRAC Bank, MJL Bangladesh, Far East Knitting and Dyeing Industries, and Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries.
