Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim on Monday said stern actions will be taken those who will be found involved in making any syndicate to hike price of essentials during the month of Ramadan.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government is making all-out strides as people can buy essentials at fair price during the Holy month of Ramadan. But some dishonest traders are trying to hike prices of essentials for making excessive profit. This is anti-state activity,” he said, reports BSS.
Nasim was addressing a meeting with leaders of AL’s Dhaka city south unit and Dhaka-8 constituency at Bangabandhu Avenue here.
He said BNP-Jamaat alliance wants that people always stay in misery and crisis. They are spreading rumors to mislead the people as the clique doesn’t want the country’s wellbeing, he added.
President of AL Dhaka City South unit valiant freedom fighter Abu Ahmed and Councilor Mamunur Rashid Shuvra were present.
Earlier, Nasim joined the annual prize-giving ceremony at Willes Little Flower School and College auditorium in the capital.
He urged the teachers to build the students as able citizens of the country to lead the nation in future.
