The International Crimes Tribunal’s investigation agency has confirmed through forensic analysis that the statement “I’ve got a license to kill 226 people” was made by the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
This was confirmed on Wednesday by chief prosecutor of the tribunal, Tazul Islam.
The chief prosecutor said that in an audio clip that spread online, a person is heard saying, “There are 226 cases against me, so I’ve got a license to kill 226 people.” The investigation agency conducted forensic analysis of the audio and confirmed that it was indeed Sheikh Hasina’s voice.
Meanwhile, several orders were issued by the tribunal. Arrest warrants have been issued against 8 individuals in connection with a murder that took place in Narayanganj during the July-August movement.
Additionally, in the case of a person being shot and then burned to death in Ashulia, the tribunal has ordered the appearance of two police officers.
Former minister Dipu Moni, citing her husband’s illness, applied for parole seeking bail.
After the hearing, the tribunal instructed her to submit the application to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
