After Dhaka and Chattogram, Elon Musk’s satellite-based internet service, Starlink, has officially launched its free service operations in Joypurhat, marking the company’s first expansion into northern Bangladesh.
The inauguration ceremony took place at Shaheed Dr. Abul Kashem Maidan, where Faisal Alim, a member of the BNP National Executive Committee, formally inaugurated the service.The event was attended by Sarful Alam, Chief Executive Officer of Fellocity, Starlink’s authorized distributor in Bangladesh, and Riyad Hasnain, Member Secretary of the United ICT Alliance.
Also present were local political leaders including Abdul Wahab, Joint Convener of Joypurhat District BNP; Motiur Rahman, District BNP member; Shafiqul Islam Shafi, General Secretary of the District Sramik Dal; A.T.M. Shahnewaz Kabir Shubhra, Former Convener of the District Jubo Dal; Zohurul Islam, Senior Joint Convener of the District Volunteer Dal; and Atiqur Rahman Sohag, member of the former convening committee of the District Jubo Dal.
The program was conducted by former student leader Saiful Islam Bullet.
