Standard Bank holds workshop on shari’ah compliance

Standard Bank PLC organized a workshop on “Shari’ah Compliance in Banking Operations” on Tuesday at its Head Office, focusing on promoting ethical and Shari’ah-compliant banking practices.
Dr. Muhammad Saifullah, Chairman of the Bank’s Shari’ah Supervisory Committee, attended as the Chief Guest and emphasized the importance of ethical values and upright conduct in Islamic banking. Professor Dr. Zubair Mohammad Ehsanul Haque, Member-Secretary of the Shari’ah Supervisory Committee, spoke about the necessity of practicing Shari’ah compliance in all banking operations, according to a press release.
The workshop was conducted by Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank. K. M. Rahmatullah, Head of the Shari’ah Secretariat Division, presented the Shari’ah compliance report of the Bank’s branches.
Executives and officers from various Head Office divisions attended the session, along with Heads, Deputy Heads, and Investment In-charges of different branches, who joined virtually. Murakebs of the Shari’ah Secretariat Division also participated, ensuring a comprehensive discussion on maintaining and strengthening compliance throughout the Bank.
The workshop highlighted Standard Bank’s commitment to ethical, transparent, and Shari’ah-compliant banking practices in its operations.
