Speakers at a regional workshop emphasised the need to expand the production and marketing of biofortified crops in local markets to ensure the widespread consumption of zinc-enriched rice and wheat among the general public.
The observations were made at a workshop titled “Stakeholder Workshop on Inclusion of Biofortified Crops in Programs and Policies,” organised by HarvestPlus Bangladesh under its “Expanding Nutrients in Food Systems” project, implemented by IFPRI. The event was held at the Additional Director’s Office, Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Rangpur, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
