Sylhet Bureau :
Soil Resources Development Institute Director General Dr. Begum Samia Sultana said, motivating farmers to ensure balanced fertilizer application and use in moderate and profitable levels in crop cultivation is the need of the hour. Agricultural extension officers and field workers need to be trained to interest and accustom farmers to crop cultivation using soil tests or the Bangladesh Government’s Regional Fertilizer Recommendation Guide (FRG). In addition, it is necessary to deliver the Regional Fertilizer Recommendation Guide (FRG) to the doorsteps of farmers, organize local farmers and conduct group-based crop cultivation and maintenance activities by selecting crops/varieties based on seasons. It is possible to improve the socio-economic condition of farmers by increasing crop density and increasing production by using balanced fertilizer in crop cultivation.
