The popular Korean series ‘Squid Game’ has come to an end with its third season. However, the last episode left a twist.
The audience was surprised by the appearance of Oscar-winning Hollywood actress Cate Blanchett at the very end of the series.
Ever since the scene of her playing tag with a homeless person on the streets of New York was seen, the buzz about a Hollywood version of ‘Squid Game’ has been strong.
However, there was a haze as there was no announcement from the makers. That has been cleared up a bit this time. According to Collider, the shooting of ‘Squid Game: America’ will start next year.
It will be directed by renowned Hollywood producer David Fincher. And Squid Game director Hwang Dong-hyeok will be associated with this project as a producer.
Although the official announcement of the ‘Squid Game: America’ series has not yet been made. However, the shooting dates have been found on the Film and Television Industry Alliance website.
According to the organisation’s list, the series will be shot from February 26 next year in various locations in Los Angeles and California.
Although inspired by the Korean ‘Squid Game’, it will not be a remake of the original series, but rather a Hollywood version with a new story. However, the basic format will remain the same. The series may be released in 2028.
‘Squid Game’ first came to Netflix in 2021.
After the skyrocketing popularity of the first season, two more seasons were released in December 2024 and June of this year. ‘Squid Game’ still maintains its position as Netflix’s most popular series.
