Sports organisations, sports arena mourn death of Khaleda Zia

The sports personalities, members of sports organisations and sports arena mourn at the death of former prime minister of Bangladesh and Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) postponed the matches of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket on Tuesday. The BCB took the decision marking the death of former prime minister and Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Begum Khaleda Zia. Begum Khaleda Zia passed away on Tuesday morning at Evercare Hospital in the capital. Sylhet Titans were scheduled to take on Chattogram Royals at 1:00pm at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, while Dhaka Capitals were scheduled to face off Rangpur Riders at 6:00pm at the same venue. The BCB expressed condolence in a press release to mark the death of Khaleda Zia.
The Interim Government of Bangladesh announced three-day long national mourning day regarding the death of great leader Begum Khaleda Zia. Her Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at the Jatiya Sangsad South Plaza and the adjoining Manik Mia Avenue after Johr prayers. Late BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will be laid to eternal rest beside her husband Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman’s grave in the city today.
The Bangladesh Football Federation also expressed deep sorrow in a press release marking the death of Begum Khaleda Zia. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) also postponed the two matches of Federation Cup Football on Tuesday. Brothers Union were scheduled to meet PWD Sports Club, while Dhaka Abahani Limited were scheduled to face Rahmatganj MFS. The BFF will announce the schedule of Federation Cup later.
The Bangladesh Olympic Association also expressed deep sadness at the death of Khaleda Zia.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation expressed deep condolence regarding the death of Khaleda Zia.
Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) stated deep sadness at the death of Begum Khaleda Zia. The BKF cancelled the semi-finals of the National Kabaddi (Men’s & Women’s), which were scheduled to be held on Tuesday. Border Guard Bangladesh were scheduled to face Bangladesh Navy in the first semi-final, while Bangladesh Air Force were scheduled to meet Bangladesh Army in the second semi-final.
Bangladesh Kho Kho Federation expressed deep condolence at the death of Khaleda Zia, according to a press release on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Handball Federation stated deep sadness at the death of the great leader, said a press release issued on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Archery Federation expressed deep shock at the death of Khaleda Zia, according to a press release issued yesterday.
Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited stated deep condolence and consolation to late Khaleda Zia’s family. Besides, All the sports federation of Bangladesh stated deep shock and sorrow in separate messages.
During her tenure as Prime Minister, Khaleda Zia provided outstanding support for the development of cricket, football, hockey and other sports in Bangladesh, significantly contributing to improvements in cricket infrastructure and the sport’s growth nationwide and also in the international sports arena.
