Spl tribunal for attackers on minority demanded

Country’s eminent citizens at a discussion here urged the government to ensure immediate trial of those who are involved in polls related violence and attacks on minority.
“If necessary to form special tribunals or laws to bring those (attackers) to justice,” they made their demand on Thursday while speaking at a discussion titled ‘Stood Against Terrorism-Violence on Religious Minority: Necessity of State and Citizens’ at CIRDAP auditorium here.
Jagannath Hall Alumni Association of Dhaka University organized the discussion with its acting president Pannalal Datta in the chair and it was conducted by founder president of the organization Ajoy Das Gupta.
Among others, elderly parliamentarians Suranjit Sengupat, Shirin Aktar, Dhaka University vice chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddiq, Advocate Sultana Kaml of Ain O Salish Kendra, Kamal Lohaani, Dr Kazi Kholiquzzaman, former vice chancellor Durgadas Bhttachariay, Dr Ajoy Roy, cultural secretary Ranjit Kumar Biswas, Professor Abdul Mannan, Dr Sarwar Ali, International Crime Tribunal Prosecutor Barrister Turin Afroj, Barrister Tania Amir, Advocate Rana Das Gupta, Professor Syed Monjurul Islam, Professor Jafar Iqbal, Professor Mezbah Kamal, Professor MS Akash and journalist Abu Sayeed Khan took part in the discussion. They said the government should take responsibility to stop such inhuman violence and suggested that if necessary to form task force or investigation committee to find out the real cause of the incident and ensure its permanent solution.
