The government beefed up extensive measures to ensure safety and security of devotees and mainrain law and order during the upcoming festival of Durga Puja.
All preparations have been completed to celebrate Durga Puja, the largest festival of the Hindu community in Kishoreganj scheduled to begin on October 9.
A total of 363 Puja Mondaps have been set up in 8 municipalities and 13 upazilas of Kishoreganj.
Artisans, locally known as pauls, are working round the clock to give the last touch to the idols of the goddess Durga.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kishoreganj, Fouzia Khan stated that District Administration has taken special security measures ahead of Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community in Kishoreganj.
We are determined to celebrate the religious festival amid enthusiasm and communal harmony. At least 25 Executive Magistrate deployed for festival Durga Puja in Kishoreganj.
Administration has distributes 500 kg of rice in each Puja Mondaps. Hindu community members and people from all walks of life were already seen crowding around the temples and Puja mandaps to see their last preparations. Talking to the New Nation Narayon Datta Prodip, President of Puja Udjapon Committee, Kishoreganj said preparations costs for the Durga Puja have risen due to the high price of raw materials and increased charges of idol makers, purohits and dhakis.
