Soumya gives good news to his fans

Dashing opener Soumya Sarkar has given good news to his fans.

He said to a local website, ” I am totally okay. I got the X-Ray report of my finger. There was no complication found in that report. So, my condition is now in a good shape.”

After ending the Dutch-Bangla Bank Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket, Bangladesh Cricket squad have begun their training session under Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Phil Simmons at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the capital’s Mirpur and the BCB-NCA Ground, which is adjacent to the SBNCS). They have taken part in their practice sessions marking the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.

The cricketers finished their first two days practice at the ‘Home of Cricket’ with a happy note. But a black and gloomy cloud was arrived on the third day of their practice session. Opener Soumya Sarkar got injury in his finger, when he did batting in the net session. After getting injury in his finger on Monday morning, the 31-year-old opener came out from the net. Then the opener received first aid treatment.

After taking a two-hour rest, Soumya Sarkar took part in the practice sessions again.
Though Soumya returned to the batting, but his teammates, coaches and members of Team Management were in anxiety that if the finger of Soumya Sarkar was fractured. Later, the medical team of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided to scan his injured finger. Then the fans of Soumya Sarkar were worried that if Soumya Sarkar cannot play in the Champions Trophy.

However, the left-hand batter confirmed a local website he is okay and there is no complications in his finger. Everything is normal. So, he will continue his practice.

Meanwhile, a BCB source said to this Reporter, ” Soumya Sarkar take part in the practice session today.”

Bangladesh Cricket team take on India Cricket team in their first Group-A match of the Champions Trophy on February 20 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. The Tigers will face New Zealand on February 24 in their second Group-A match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Pakistan. Bangladesh will meet Pakistan on February 27 in their third Group-A match at the same venue.
