A man has taken seven wickets in T20 International (T20I)s twice. In 2023, Malaysia’s Siyazrul Idrus against China and this year, Bahrain’s Ali Dawood against Bhutan, dismissed seven batters, conceding 8 and 19 runs respectively. This time, Bhutan’s Sonam Yeshey surpassed them. The 22-year-old left-arm spinner took 8 wickets, conceding just 7 runs.
Myanmar won the toss and elected to field at the Gelefu International Cricket Ground on Friday. Bhutan scored 127 for 9 with Namgang Chezayer making 50 runs.
Chasing a target of 128, Bhutan bowled out Myanmar for 45 runs. Sonam took three wickets in the first four balls of the third over.
The left-arm spinner took another wicket in his second over. He hit a couple of hits in the last two overs. Sonam gave away 7 runs including 1 maiden in 4 overs.
Two openers of Myanmar could reach double digit figures. Bhutan sealed the five-match series 3-0 in defeating Bhutan by 82 runs in their third T20I match.
