A father, Surman Sheikh (75), died after being stabbed by his son in Atharokada village of Magura Sadar. The incident took place on Sunday morning.
Md. Mofizul Islam (35) of Atharokada village of Magura Sadar upazila stabbed his father, Md. Surman Sheikh (75). The relatives of the deceased said that at 09:30 this morning, the accused Md. Mofizul Islam came to his father, Md. Surman Sheikh, to ask for his share of land, he had made this proposal many times before. But today, as he did not agree to his proposal, Md. Surman Sheikh, who was standing next to the plum tree in front of his house, was injured and was running away when the local people caught him and handed him over to the police. Relatives quickly took Surman Sheikh to the 250-bed Sadar Hospital in Magura, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
