Abdur Razzak’s bloody body was recovered from his house on Friday morning. He is the vice-president of South Surma Upazila Awami League and former general secretary of South Surma Upazila Sports Association. Abdur Razzak is the son of the late Moulul Hossain of Telirai village in Mollargaon union of South Surma. ADC Saiful said that Asad, the son of the deceased, was arrested on Friday on suspicion. Some clues were found during his interrogation. Further interrogation is underway. Abdur Razzak may have been killed over a property dispute. The police officer also said that no case has been filed by the victim’s family in this incident so far. As a result, the police will file a case as the plaintiff. In which the victim’s son will be made an accused. Earlier on Friday, the police had said, quoting the family, that Abdur Razzak went to walk on the roof of his house after performing Fajr prayers. When he was not found at home at around 9 am, the family members went to the roof and found his bloody body. However, the relatives said that no one was seen entering or leaving the house in the CCTV footage. Besides, the main gate was locked. There was also no problem in the family. However, his mental condition has worsened since the fall of the Awami League government. He also sought treatment in India for this. His mental condition has deteriorated further in the last few months. But the police are reluctant to accept this statement.
Mizanur Rahman, the officer-in-charge (OC) of South Surma Police Station, believes that Abdur Razzak was murdered. Why would the intestines come out if he commits suicide? There are also stab wounds on his body. The body has been sent to the Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The police have started an investigation keeping in mind the issue of family disputes and property disputes. On Friday,
Mohammad Saiful Islam said that it is initially believed that the murder took place between 6:30 am and 9:30 am. Stab wounds were found on the chest and stomach of the deceased. The police are questioning the family members of the deceased. In this regard,
