UNB, Joypurhat :
An alleged snatcher was beaten to death by local people at Komorgram village in Sadar Upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Arif, 24, son of late Alam Hossain of the same village.
Local people said Arif on Tuesday night stabbed a shop owner named Phul Mia in his shop near the Jaypurhat-Bogra highway at the village.
Arif also snatched away some money from the cash box of the shop and fled the spot.
Local people rescued Phul Mian in critical condition and admitted him to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra.
Later, on Thursday morning, the local people spotted Arif in the village and beat him to death on the spot.
On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police sources said they are taking preparation to file a case in this connection.
