Believe it or not a snake-charmer named Bibek Hira (35), son of one late Bimal Hira of village Dari Umajuri under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district on Thursday (July 25) morning was killed by snake-bite. The deceased was known as a snake-charmer in the localities. He cured a good number of snake bite patients. But it is the irony fate that the snake-charmer who saved the life of so many so many snake-bite people the unfortunate snake-charmer failed to save his own life from hands of snake-biting. The incident occurred in the village mentioned above, according to a delayed report received here.
It is learnt from the locals that on the day of occurrence in the morning at about 7 am he left the house with a casting net to catch fish from a nearby canal and at once a poisonous snake was caught in his fishing net and when the snake-charmer tried to catch the snake it bite him fatally. As result he fell ill and at one stage lost his sense.
