Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Commissioner Abdul Quddus Chowdhury has instructed that no more than three passengers can be carried in CNG autorickshaws plying in Sylhet city.
In addition, it has been made mandatory to install safety grills in front and back of every CNG autorickshaw.
In addition, battery-powered autorickshaws have been completely banned in urban areas.
The SMP Commissioner gave these instructions at the ‘View-Exchange Meeting on Determining the Fare of CNG-powered Three-Wheelers and Pedal-Powered Rickshaws’ at the Sylhet Metropolitan Police Headquarters on Saturday.
Politicians, journalists and members of civil society participated in the meeting.
They expressed their opinions on determining the reasonable fare of CNG and rickshaws for the convenience of the city residents.
