The foundation stone of the Sylhet Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI) has been laid. On Monday (October 27) afternoon, Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi was present as the chief guest at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of the building on the land purchased by SMCCI in Kumarpara of the city.

Ferdous Alam, Vice President Alimus Sadat Chowdhury, Founder Director Ziaul Gani Arifin, Treasurer Md. Zahir Hossain, Directors Tofail Ahmed Limon, Rajib Bhowmik, Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Md. Abdul Matin, Abdullah Al-Harun, Mohammad Abdullah, Md. Kaptan Hossain, Mohammad Anis, former director Ajay Kumar Dhar, members Abdul Ahad Chowdhury Shamim, Subrata Dhar, Md. Abdul Mumin, Engineer Mokhlesur Rahman Akash, Engineer Zakir Hossain, SMCCI Chief Executive Officer Md. Jahangir Hossain also present the event.
The chief guest of the programee, Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi inaugurated the foundation stone laying of the SMCCI building. At the time, he said that the Metropolitan Chamber building is being constructed on its own purchased land, which is a big achievement for the chamber. He thanked the board of directors of the chamber. The Divisional Commissioner praised the excellent design of the Metropolitan Chamber building. He called for all modern facilities to be provided in the chamber building and wished for the successful completion of the building work.
