Smart cards distribution programme officially inaugurated among the citizens of Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet. Abdul Harim Khan officially inaugurated the program of distributing national identity cards smart cards at the Nijpat Union Parishad premises on Wednesday, January 1 at 11 am organized by the Upazila Election Commission.
Sylhet Regional Election Officer Md. Abdul Harim Khan was present as the chief guest, Sylhet District Election Officer Saidur Rahman was present as the special guest at the National Identity Card Smart Card Distribution Ceremony presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Saaliq Rumaiya and conducted by Upazila Election Officer Md. Abul Kalam, Nijpat Union Parishad Chairman Md. Intaj Ali, Jaintapur upazila BNP General Secretary Md. Abdul Hafiz, UP member Mansur Ahmed were also present here. At the inaugural ceremony, the guests formally handed over the National Identity Card smart cards to Nijpat Union Parishad Chairman Md. Intaz Ali and Jaintapur Upazila BNP General Secretary Md. Abdul Hafiz. Upazila Election Officer Md. Abul Kalam said, smart cards will be distributed in 6 unions of the upazila from January 4. For this, he called on every citizen to come to the union council on the specified date and receive the smart card by taking Irish and fingerprints. He mentioned that if the citizen cannot receive the smart card at the specified time at the union level, he can collect the smart card later from the upazila election office.
