Six members of the same family have been killed in a fire that broke out at an Ashrayan Project house in Dharmapasha upazila of Sunamganj.
The incident occurred at Seemer Khal village in Jayasree union of the upazila on Monday midnight.
After the incident, police rushed to the scene around 7:30 am on Tuesday and recovered the bodies of the six.
The deceased have been identified as Emarul Mia, 45, his wife Polly Akhter, 35, their sons Palash Mia, 10, Farhad Mia, 8, Omar Faruk, 3, and their daughter Fatema Akhter, 5.
Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) teams went to the scene to investigate the case.
Sunamganj District Police Super AFM Md Anowar Hossain Khan confirmed the matter.
The police super said that the fire incident started there around 12 last night. However, nobody could confirm the fact how the fire started.
