Six people sustained burn injuries in an explosion at a house in Ashulia of Savar, on the outskirts of the capital early Wednesday. The explosion took place around 5 am at the house in the Dendabar Kabarasthan Road area.
The victims are Hakim, 35, and his wife Adori; 30; Awal, 32, his wife Renu, 30, and their daughter Afia, 10; and Afroza, 30. Five of them were garments workers. The injured were sent to the Public Health Center and Habib Clinic. Later, two of them were shifted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Abdul Alim, Fire Service and Civil Defense Dhaka Zone-4 assistant director said,The explosion might occur due to biogas of the toilet as they found no sign of gas cylinder or gas line there.
