NN ONLINE:

Law enforcement authorities are on heightened alert ahead of the November 13 “Dhaka Lockdown,” a program announced by the Awami League, whose activities remain prohibited, according to Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs. He expressed confidence that the city will stay calm on that day. The adviser spoke after a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat on Tuesday, November 11.

“There has been thorough discussion, and we request a little cooperation from everyone. If you notice anything suspicious, please promptly notify the law enforcement agencies,” he urged. “The law enforcement agencies have taken a firm stance for November 13. They will maintain a strong presence. The situation is expected to be normal, and there is no cause for concern,” he added.

Jahangir Alam also stated, “There will be no leniency for terrorists. People often say terrorists receive bail quickly; to prevent easy bail, we will also urge those who grant bail not to release terrorists.
