NN Online Report:

Police on Tuesday blocked a silent sit-in demonstration by parents in front of the main entrance to Dhaka Medical College Hospital to protest against the killing of students and innocent people during the recent quota reform protests.

The protesters, under the banner of Bangladesh Nari Mukti Kendra, were removed when they attempted to hold their demonstration at around 10:45am, reports media.

Seema Dutta, president of the organization, said they had wanted to stand on the road, but the police had not allowed them.

“We demand justice for the killing of our children. Proper treatment must be ensured for the injured. False cases must be withdrawn, and those detained must be released immediately.”

However, the police claimed that they had blocked the protest because the authorities had not granted permission for such a program.
