Sirajganj BNP candidate Rumana, 20 others hurt

BNP claimed its candidate of Sirajganj-2 Rumana Mahmud and 20 other activists were injured by police firing and charged baton on them, according to Shershanews24.com
BNP’s vice chairman and former minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku told the journalists that police fire and charge baton. BNP candidate and supporters in front of the party’s district office at Clooge Mor in Sirajganj sadar while they were gathering for election campaign.
He said, at that time supporters of Boat symbol came with riding 10/12 motorbikes and threw cocktail to BNP supporters, the BNP activists chase then to the cadres. In this moment police arrived there and shot to BNP supporters.
As a result, Oikyafront’s candidate of constituency Rumana Mahmud was injured, sprinters hits on her legs and backbone.
Besides, sprinter hits in two eyes of Mohila Dal’s joint secretary Merina Ahmed. Other BNP supporters were injured as police charge baton to disperse the gathering.
On the other hand, supporters of Boat symbol attacked Shariatpur-3 constituency’s BNP candidate Nuruddin Ahmed Apu’s supporter, ransacked Shariatpur sadar BNP office and set fire on around nine thousand posters of Sheaf of Paddy for the candidate.
BNP alleged that ‘Boat supporters’ attacked the BNP office on Friday afternoon while Chhatra Dal activists are preparing to hang the posters of Sheaf of Paddy.
Murad Nagar BNP candidate KM Mujibul Hoque’s supporters came under attack by local ruling party supporters on Friday afternoon. Later police took the situation under control.
